I successfully generated my first AI-automated newsletter from my draft Django portfolio website, using a simple (test) prompt of “Cute Stuff”.
As you can see in the below screengrab, the formatting wasn’t built yet, as this was just a test of the ChatGPT API call/functionality, email generation and delivery setup. Imagine how much fun I’m going to have with this once I start formatting it!

A little behind the scenes – from my locally hosted admin page, I selected the action of sending my newsletter, and like magic, within seconds, the above “Cute Stuff Newsletter” arrived in my email, describing cute things and sprinkled with dozens of emojis. Perfect!

It definitely was not magic, of course. It was quite a bit of work to get all of my code setup over 2 x 2hr super-detailed, interactive workshops hosted/taught by the kind (and very patient) Ibraheem of Lonely Octopus. I’m super proud of myself for not giving up during today’s workshop because I was getting incredibly overwhelmed at one point (even teary-eyed??) because I had fallen so behind with the live instructions and felt too embarrassed to admit it and slow down the group. But the aforementioned Ibraheem pushed me to share my screen during the workshop and got me caught up in real-time. Phew. Future homework averted!
Anyway, I like to think that if I continue on this AI “training” path, my first AI Agent be the combined personas of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, RuPaul, and Spock combined. One can only hope!
Until next time,
The Cute Stuff Team *UWU*
