On the Lonely Octopus program Discord server, there are bot commands that we use to do things like check course info and “buy” events. Today, while perusing the commands list, I found (what I think is) an easter egg.
The command was: /drinky and it had no information about it. Of course, I entered it, and it returned a joke! As a thank you for the easter egg and prize, I decided to make an illustration with ChatGPT-4o using the joke as the initial prompt and additional style prompting.
Can you guess what the joke was, based on the output illustration?

I like how generated images in ChatGPT-4o still have misspellings on words embedded into them. I really think it adds to the charm and experience of being on Earth at this moment in time when generative AI still makes mistakes. This technology is improving so rapidly, I truly believe that one day we will look back and reminisce over “early AI” and the little mistakes or “hallucinations” instead of the constant state of perfection it will eventually be in. Kind of like how now we look back and reminisce over life before social media, since it’s infiltrated every facet of our lives, personal and business. We’ll be in our rocking chairs telling our robot grandchildren “You know, back in my day, ChatGPT made mistakes…” and they’ll be like, “Uh huh, that’s nice GrandmaHuman, time for your nightly reboot, ehrm, I mean, bedtime ritual”.
Oops, that got deep. Okay! To wrap up my thought about misspellings and this illustration…I love how on the bar sign it reads “No Octopues…” which reminds me of Spanish because of the “No (no) and the “…pues” (slang, kind of like “well…” in English used as a filler word). Maybe now I’ll start saying no octopues to my fellow Lonely Octopus teammates! And that bottle of booze simply labeled “bar”? So cute!!
